Acram and Nicole Katongole met in 2020 in western Uganda where their mutual love of Jesus and heart of service propelled them to serve underserved and unreached peoples.

After years of ministering to the people in the village where they lived, they begged the question: 

​

"What would happen if we reached underserved communities, empowered them in their God-given gifts and abilities, and provided the resources needed not only for them to address the adversities they face, but to grow, to thrive, and to meet the love of Christ in a very tangible way?"

Africa Shades of Light was birthed from this question - seeking out communities that lack pre-existing resources and support, engaging in meaningful relationships with community members and leaders, fostering collaboration, and creating unique solutions for lasting change in the lives and hearts of people for generations.

The Katongoles live in central Uganda with their son and light of their lives, Uriah, and serve and empower underserved communities throughout Uganda, East Africa with Africa Shades of Light.
